Sondre Amdahl (43) is a professional mountain ultra trail-runner and endurance coach. Sondre lives in Trysil, Norway with his wife Ingvild and twin daughters (10 years old).
“I have been active my whole life, with cross-country skiing, orienteering and alpine skiing. I ran my first marathon at age 16, but put the running aside in my late teens as I liked skiing more. Then, at age 31, I did my first ultra race, the Kepler Challenge in New Zealand. I immediately fell in love with running ultras, but couldn’t do it as much as I wanted because of other life priorities. Then, in 2010, things started to calm down a little and I could prioritize running more. Since then, I have been running long ultra trail-races all over the world, and I just love it!
When I am not running, I try to spend as much time as I can with my family. My favourite activity is skiing with my wife and our daughters (10 year-old twins). I hope I can be a good role model for my kids, and I hope they will grow up being active and loving the outdoors.
I am proud to represent Hope So Bright and their amazing causes. Helping children is very close to my heart and one of the most important things anyone can do in life.”
