OUR MISSION
AWARENESS, COLLABORATION, EDUCATION and ADVOCACY
Linda Sanders began Hope So Bright in 2012, to provide financial support to community nonprofit organizations who offer programs and services to disadvantaged, underserved and at-risk youth.
Hope So Bright promotes awareness, collaboration, education, resources and advocacy for children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism. Special consideration is given to the underserved: those representing different cultures, religious beliefs, languages with a variety of dialects, socioeconomic classes of varying levels of education, and children living in rural, isolated geographic areas.
Supporters of Hope So Bright include children, their caregivers and families, health care professionals, special education teachers and administrators, government officials, thought leaders, corporate CEOs/Presidents, volunteers, and child advocates.
OUR VISION
While the current focus of Hope So Bright for several years is to advocate for children suffering with ADHD and autism, the next cause the nonprofit will take on is, foster care.
How We Do It
In addition to providing financial support via micro-grants to nonprofits, Hope So Bright organizes special outreach events, fundraisers and educational programs to raise awareness for ADHD and autism. Linda Sanders, an elite athlete, participates in marathons and ultra marathons all over the world throughout the year to raise awareness about children with learning challenges. When she is unable to attend one of these events, she sponsors renowned athletes to run on her behalf. Hope So Bright’s TEAM IRUN4ULTRA raises worldwide awareness about her nonprofit we well as ADHD and autism.
An ultra marathon, also called ultra distance, is any footrace longer than the traditional marathon length of 42+ kilometers or 26+ miles. Endurance sports (such as swimming, wrestling, weightlifting, cycling, cross-country skiing, running and race walking) are undertaken by individual athletes (not teams). During the sport, key muscles are exercised at submaximal intensity for prolonged periods of time. Ultra marathon running, in particular, beautifully represents that success or winning is possible with dedication and perseverance. Hope So Bright, as a supporter of endurance sports, uses the analogy of a marathon runner’s often excruciating experience, to showcase the daily struggle of a learning impaired child and his/her family.
Why We Do It
We believe that no matter where children come from, they need advocates, support, and, most of all, hope.
Together we can facilitate children and make a significant difference in the quality of their lives.
